If you run a vehicle breakdown recovery business, then you can’t afford unreliability in your own fleet. That is why Recovery North West replaced a mixture of truck brands with six new DAF Trucks. The acquisition consisted of four DAF XF and a pair of LF rigids. Three of the XF trucks were 4×2 tractor units with the last an impressive looking XF 530 FAS 6×2 rigid (dual-mounted trailing axle) wrecker with a remote-operated twin 30,000lb hydraulic winch, 30-tonne K boom and a 32-tonne rear bogie.
All six were supplied through DAF franchise dealer, North West Trucks located in Huyton, Merseyside.
Passenger Car Recovery Trucks
Supplementing the XFs are a pair of LF rigids at 12- and 16-tonnes GVW, both on rear-air. The 12-tonne LF has been taken as a dedicated and secure covered transporter, while the second LF 16-tonner has been equipped as a full-service roadside recovery vehicle with an SLA tilt-and-slide rear flatbed twin deck with spectacle lift and five-tonne winch.
