In a significant conquest deal, MAN have managed to get one of their TGM trucks into the Go Plant fleet of 500 trucks for the first time.
The company is the UK’s largest specialist municipal road sweeper rental company and has a network of depots across the UK. The MAN TGM will be operating out of Barnsley and will be rented out including a driver.
The Truck Specification
The truck is a MAN TGM 18.250, specified as a sweeper chassis. The TGM is a long wheel base 3275mm 18 tonne sweeper chassis with air suspension, fitted with MAN’s D08 250hp Euro6d engine which drives through the 12-speed Tipmatic fully automatic gearbox. The truck uses MAN’s narrow 2240mm wide C cab. The C cab gives the driver excellent vision, an ultra-low step and wide-opening door entry and a comfortable and modern working environment. Bodied by Johnston Sweepers, the UK’s largest manufacturer of street cleansing equipment, both the hopper and integral water tank is fabricated from heavy duty stainless steel plate. The VT652 body houses its own auxiliary engine which operates totally independent from the chassis and therefore offers the lowest fuel consumption on low revs or the best possible suction performance on maximum revs. Ben Gilmore, Director Road Sweeping Operations, Go Plant Fleet Services, said: “MAN Truck & Bus have certainly impressed us with their desire to offer us a trusted partnering relationship and their professional method of specifying, building and supplying a specialised vehicle has been appreciated.
