As if a V8 Scania wasn’t at the top of most people’s truck shopping list, then Scania choose to bring out a new, flagship version of their S-Series to celebrate the 50th anniversary of an engine. It shows the passion surrounding these machines that we can celebrate the anniversary of an engine. You would need to be quick if you want to buy a new one – Scania are only making 25 of these beauties. The lucky owners can choose from 4×2 or 6×2 format and will arrive numbered and loaded with special features, including the V8 styling package. If you think these are coming on the used truck market in a few years time, you can think again. Owners of these Scania V8s are likely to keep them for years – perhaps the larger companies will never sell such a machine. If you are lucky enough to be able to find one in the used truck market then maybe you should snap it up as an investment – just don’t use it too much!

We are therefore delighted to be celebrating the engine’s golden anniversary with this unique limited edition, and I would encourage anyone interested to contact their local Scania dealer as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”
What’s the Scania V8 Spec?
Scania buyers can choose from three colours only, ‘Ruby Red, Arctic Silver and Sapphire Blue’ but they will all have anniversary cab badges displaying each vehicle’s individual limited edition number, exclusive puddle lights and badged hub caps and mudflaps.
The best bit must be the piece of paper to hang on the wall – these special Scania buyers will receive a numbered certificate commemorating their purchase of a 50th anniversary Scania V8.
To tell these beauties apart on the road, look out for the chrome trim grille air intakes, side windows and door handles and a rectangular left-side exhaust pipe design.
Inside the cab, as you would expect, there is a 50th V8 anniversary badge, plus some extra chrome and – believe it or not- special pedals with even more special pedal pads!
You get red ‘V8’ stitching on your embossed leather seats, a microwave, coffee machine and a large screen infotainment system.
