Following DAF’s initiative to buy free tea and coffee for our #transportheroes Scania are following suit.  Instead of footing the bill at venues that are still open, Scania is taking the refreshments to places that aren’t serving any food and drink.

Scania is offering a full menu of refreshments, including tea, a range of coffees, hot chocolate, Scania-branded water cartons and Scania chocolate bars.  Open to all drivers, not just those behind the wheel of a Scania, the tour begins today Friday, the 15th May, and will visit a number of Distribution Centres around the country.

Stacey Llewellyn-Price, Scania’s Events Manager comments:

With the majority of truckstops, cafes and roadside pull-ins closed around the UK, the simple matter of obtaining refreshments has become a nigh-on impossible challenge for the nation’s transport heroes.  So to help, and to say thank you for all the vital and essential work they are doing, we thought we would transform our hospitality trailer into a free, mobile café, while adhering to the Government’s social distancing policy.

Many drivers will already be familiar with the trailer as it normally visits many truck shows and events around the country every year.  But 2020 is different, of course, so we’re doing what we can and now look forward to welcoming as many drivers to enjoy a socially-distanced refreshment break with us as soon as possible – so if you see us at a Distribution Centre you are visiting, do drop in and see us!

I would also like to say that we are keen to add more venues to our tour, so if anyone out there can suggest a suitable location for us to visit, we’d be delighted to hear from you – just email me at [email protected]
