Citing issues in the supply of component parts, MAN has stopped truck manufacturing at their main Munich plant from 19th March.  Production at other plants across the world is being assessed and may well follow suit, at the moment, production is being scaled back. The health and safety of employees was also a factor in MAN’s decision to cancel production and the company is monitoring the situation.  From 23rd March, all MAN employees on production sites in Germany were placed on short-time working.  Employees from administrative areas not affected by short-time work are taking advantage of existing flexible working time arrangements and work from home wherever possible. The company says that is doing everything in its power to maintain full operation of its sales and service locations worldwide as long as the overall situation allows, in order to secure supply chains.

There is no indication at present as to how long the closure will last.
