Using Scania’s 13-litre engine and SCR only approach to meeting the emissions standard, the 450hp can run equally happily on diesel, HVO or Biodiesel without any changes required for the engine. Available as a tractor unit or rigid, with either 4×2 or 6×2, the truck is available with manual or Opticruise transmissions and a range of 5 cabs, with three sleepers, including the Highline and two day cabs, (including a low one for car transporters etc.). As far as the UK’s used truck market is concerned, the bulk of the R450s are available as 6×2 tractor units, although there are a number of 8×2 rigids that have had fridge, crane or beavertail bodies fitted.
