There’s a real mixture of machines on the dumpers for sale pages – from a traditional site dumper, to an articulated dump truck (ADT) to a pedestrian tracked dumper. Here’s what makes up this broad category of ‘Dumpers’ on the PlantPages website: Everyone thinks of the traditional ‘site dumper‘ when talking about dupers in the UK. These versatile machines are available from manufacturers including specialists Thwaites, our own JCB plus Mecalac and Terex. Most manufacturers offer swivel tip, high tip and standard tip versions that are available across a broad weight range. Able to cope with most surfaces, the wheeled site dumper is fast, familiar to operators and cost effective to run.
The large, articulated dump trucks, (ADTs or off-highway trucks in the USA), a market dominated by Volvo CE in the UK are the second most common type of dumper found for sale at PlantPages – despite being the largest type of dumper available.
There are new & used tracked dumpers (crawler carriers) in their own section with manufacturers such as Morooka, Yanmar and Hitachi. These machines can replace the traditional site dumper on poor terrain as their traction is vastly improved, thanks to their rubber tracks – they also damage the surface of the site a lot less.
