These specialist Hot Box bodied trucks and trailers are used for road repairs. The tarmac repair truck can use either an auger system to eject the hot tarmac or tip the body to release the hot cargo. Check whether the example you are considering has a gas bottle lift – health and safety will not permit a single operator loading a heavy bottle manually. The smaller trailers are suitable for one man operation and do not need a specialist truck to tow them so you can have a multi-purpose vehicle. The most common manufacturer in the UK is Econ, although Phoenix and Roadmender are also Hotbox manufactures that appear on Truckpages.
