Increasing numbers of MAN ex-army trucks are coming up for sale. The UK army started to buy MAN trucks back in 2005 which means that they are coming towards the end of their 20 year first life span. There is still plenty of life and value in these MAN army lorries, which can be exported to countries such as Africa or converted into super campers for the Overland expedition crowd. Earlier models to look out for from MAN are the Kat 1 but the more recent examples are the smaller HX60 which are 18 tonne 4×4 versions and the HS and HX models.
500 support trucks will be delivered to the British Army this year to support operational activity following our rapid procurement of the vehicles. Collaboration between the Defence Equipment & Support (D & ES) delivery team, Army Headquarters and the Field Army has helped push the boundaries of Defence procurement, acquiring all the vehicles in just seven months.
