Mercedes trucks make great distribution vehicles – the three pointed star adds some brand kudos to an operator. For this reason there are always plenty of Mercedes Fridge trucks for sale at Truckpages. For lighter work, expect to be looking at the Atego fridge truck, whilst older versions of the Mercedes 18 tonne fridge truck are more likely to be an Axor with newer versions being Antos or Actros. Surprisingly it is still the Axor that is the most common Mercedes fridge truck for sale at Truckpages. It will shortly be eclipsed by the Actros that has been the Mercedes model for 18-26 tonnes operation after the company canned the short-lived Antos which replaced the Axor back in 2014.
The Atego seems not particularly popular as a 7.5 tonne fridge truck- this may well be down to the weight. Not the lightest chassis, when adding an insulated body and the refrigeration equipment plus a tail lift, there is not as much payload remaining as many would like. For this reason we see the Atego at the ‘inbetween’ weights at 12 to 15 tonnes where payload is less of an issue.
The well-engineered Sprinter is highly popular as a fridge van. It can stand up to the rigours of multi drop work and is fitted with plenty of safety features for urban operation. And there are models that go up to 5 tonnes GVW that give acceptable payload for a van.

The 19-tonne GVW eActros made its debut at the ITT Hub event in Farnborough on 9 May. A fully operational vehicle, it will now be offered for live demonstrations to operators across the country. The truck is based on a 4x2 eActros 300. Fitted with three nickel manganese cobalt battery packs, for a total installed capacity of 336kWh, it boasts a range of up to 330km (205 miles). The batteries can be recharged from 20 to 80% in 75 minutes, using a…
If you are selling high quality food – even frozen food - then the company’s image has to look right online, in store and on the road. Managing their own transport in house and buying Mercedes trucks and vans for the job means that the overall image of frozen food retailer, Cook is kept high. The company has benefitted from the recent lockdowns and resultant increases in home deliveries and has responded to this surging demand by adding another Mercedes-Benz truck to its logistics fleet. Following a £16-million investment the fast-growing company is also preparing to open a second kitchen…
