In the UK market, it appears that if you are specifying a new truck it will rarely be towards Scania that you look when buying a box truck. There are some Scania box trucks for sale here, but not in the same numbers as trucks for construction or tractor units where the Swedish manufacturer sells well. It’s anyone’s guess why this is – perhaps the extra cost of buying new cannot be justified in a distribution environment – many of these trucks will be part of a large fleet in their first lives and the fleet managers do not opt for a Scania for ambient or refrigerated box truck duties. However, if you are desperate to have a Scania box truck then good examples are available, it’s just you may have to travel further to find one and you won’t have the choice available compared to buying a DAF etc.
