DAF Delivers five CF Electric trucks to Amazon UK
The 37-tonne GCW fully-electric tractor units join Amazon’s ‘middle mile’ delivery fleet, and will be transporting goods - all with zero tailpipe emissions. The five DAF CF Electric trucks are the first electric middle mile trucks Amazon is operating in Europe. The vehicles mark an important milestone towards the electrification of Amazon’s fleet, forming part of Shipment Zero – Amazon’s goal to deliver 50% of Amazon shipments with net-zero carbon by 2030. DAF Trucks Sell their First Electric Tractor Units in UK
It seems that Cardiff-based international freight forwarders, Freight Systems Express Wales (FSEW) is well ahead of the curve. The business is aiming to be carbon ‘net-zero’ before 2025 and their first major step is to invest in a pair of DAF CF tractor units – a trial before an order for a further 10 units is placed.
