At 12 and 18 tonnes GVW, the DAF LF beavertail will soon be the most common plant-bodied truck for sale at Truckpages. Available since 2014, there are plenty on the roads, but operators like to keep their beavertail trucks for longer than most. Second hand truck buyers will have to be patient as they start to appear in larger numbers on the used truck market. The 12-tonne LF beavertail will typically use the 230hp engine with the 18 tonner needing at least a 250hp or higher. At 12 tonnes the LF payload is sufficient for moving one or two small items of plant, whereas – with a longer body, the 18-tonne version should carry three comfortably thanks to the LF’s short cab.
