First Electric Builders’ Merchant Truck from Volvo
Joseph Parr has taken delivery of a Volvo FM Electric 6x2 rigid, believed to be the first zero-tailpipe heavy-duty truck working for a builders’ merchant in the UK. The new FM Electric will operate predominantly from the business’ Bradford depot, carrying out back-to-base customer deliveries. It was part funded by a grant from Bradford City Council, which will monitor the truck’s impact closely – via data from Volvo Connect, the manufacturer’s fleet management system – as it tries to drive down carbon emissions in the city’s Clean Air Zone and wider areas. Two New Volvo Crane Trucks Delivered
Two specialist Volvo FM crane trucks have been delivered by Volvo Truck dealer MC Truck & Bus. Whilst the trucks are fitted with standard 460HP D13K engines, the build looks complicated. One of the FM trucks has a Tridem 8x4 layout – this means that there are three axles at the rear of the truck – the last axle being a lift axle with the other two both drive axles.
