It is unsurprising that the most powerful version of the DAF LF is the one most commonly used for a skip truck conversion. This is why there are plenty of DAF LF290 skip trucks for sale at Truckpages. Fantastic payloads and sufficient power to run the truck fully laden and power the PTO needed to drive the hydraulics for the skiploader body. Usually operating at as a skiploader at 18 tonnes, the LF290 gives an excellent payload with enough power to drive the automatic transmission preferred in today’s modern urban-based trucks. Lower powered versions are available – going right down the weight range to a 150hp 7.5 tonne skip truck, but for 18-tonne operation the smallest LF you should consider for skip wagon work is the LF250 with 250hp.
