Launched in 2013 all Mercedes trucks designed for use in the construction sector were rebranded as Arocs trucks. As the construction sector is so broad, there has to be plenty of options available from Mercedes to meet the needs of this demanding industry. The range covers tippers, all wheel drive variants, mixers and tractor units which choices of 2, 3 or 4 axles. Power outputs span a huge range from 238 to 625hp.
The Arocs has only ever been built at Euro 6, so there should be no concerns about entering building sites in London’s ULEZ zone. A popular truck when new, there is always a range of Arocs trucks advertised on Truckpages. As you would expect, the most common are the tippers with the refuse trucks and concrete mixers coming in second and third. The most popular model variant is by far and away the 32 tonne 400hp version the Arocs 3240. We usually see twice as many with this specification as all the others added together.
The Mercedes BlueTec 6 six-cylinder engines use both EGR and SCR to hit the Euro 6 standard. all four engine sizes: 7.7, 10.7, 12.8 and 15.6 litre are mated to Mercedes PowerShift 3 automated gearboxes, fitted as a standard.
The drive configurations offered for the Arocs range from the 4×2 two-axle version with rear-wheel drive to 8×8/4, a four-axle vehicle with all-wheel drive and two steering front axles. Four-axle versions with one front and three rear axles, a wide range of air-sprung vehicles, or a load-optimised concrete-mixer chassis with single-tyred drive tandem are examples of the wide variety of new Arocs versions available straight off the production line.
The Arocs has seven cabs available in 14 different versions. As supplements to the compact 2.3 m cabs in L, M or S versions, the new Arocs can also be fitted with spacious 2.5 m variants with a level cab floor.

Two Mercedes Arocs concrete mixers have arrived at quarrying and construction material supplier, Brice Aggregates thanks to a truck salesperson’s tenacity in spotting a sales opportunity. In its early days Brice based its fleet on another brand of trucks. The decision to invest in Mercedes-Benz vehicles was sparked when the company began making deliveries to the construction site that was to become Motus Truck & Van’s Witham Dealership, in 2021. Managing Director Oliver Brice said, “Motus Sales Executive Ben Sheldrake noticed we were turning up to pour concrete at the site in mixers from a rival brand – so he…
