Formed as recently as 2014, Tiger trailers have gone from strength to strength in the UK semi trailer market, moving to a larger production facility in 2018 where all manufacturing processes are carried out in one place. As a new company there are a growing number of Tiger trailers for sale at Truckpages – many semi-trailer operators keep their trailers for more than ten years so do not hit the used market so quickly. Tiger make a whole range of semi-trailers, including curtainsiders, double deckers and refrigerated (reefers).
One of the UK’s premier providers of hotel laundry hire and services, Johnsons Hotel Linen, has started to introduce three fixed double decks and fifty-two rigids to its fleet, with a focus on durability to meet its testing operational schedule. The decision to partner with Tiger Trailers was made after a visit to its specialised facility in Cheshire by Leigh Anscombe, Johnsons’ National Transport Manager. The order for the trailers was placed initially, and the first delivery took place in October 2023, along with twenty 18-tonne rigids, all manufactured with robustness in mind. Anscombe says: “From our first introduction to…
Banbury-based bread makers Fine Lady Bakeries has chosen Tiger Trailers to build eight double deck articulated trailers, citing innovation and a fast turnaround time as key factors influencing their decision. Fine Lady Bakeries’ new Tiger trailers, painted in their unique ‘Straw Yellow’ scheme, boast a three-quarter-length moving deck rated to ten tonnes, operated by the manufacturer’s four-ram hydraulic system. The trailers will predominantly serve Fine Lady Bakeries’ main sites in Banbury and Manchester, from where a selection of unbranded bread products is loaded in bread baskets, and transported to supermarkets, wholesalers, and other customers up and down the UK. Fine…
Trucks and trailers are getting bigger. However, despite the views of opponents in this area, this is no bad thing as the main motivator behind the move to larger trucks and trailers is the environmental agenda. Longer trailers mean more payload area which means more cargo per journey and therefore fewer journeys. Longer tractor units mean better aerodynamics and improved fuel efficiency. The good news is that both longer trailers and tractor units are now legal in the UK. However, the bad news is none of this means the maximum permitted gross vehicle weights have increased. Which Longer Tractor Units…
Tiger Trailers started manufacturing and suppyling trailers to Zenith Trailer Rentals, the trading name of Contract Vehicle Rentals Limited, in 2021, beginning with one hundred tandem axle box vans followed by sixty tri axle curtainsiders finished in the livery of a well-known nationwide joinery and furniture end user. The relationship between Tiger Trailers and Zenith continued to grow ever stronger during 2022 when the Cheshire manufacturer built and supplied 250 further semi-trailers of differing types in significant volume, comprised an additional one hundred and fifty unbranded tri axle single deck curtainsiders and one hundred curtainsided double deck step-frame trailers with…
Irish haulage firm BM Transport has welcomed the Tiger Trailers brand to its fleet for the first time following its order for 30 curtainsiders. The trailers were manufactured on time and in full by the OEM based in Cheshire and have entered service across the island of Ireland, the UK and Europe. BM Transport’s Managing Director, Darren Murphy, comments: “The first 30 new Tiger Trailers curtainsiders to join the fleet are the first to sport our updated livery. These trailers are built fully to our own BMT spec meaning they should be on the fleet for much longer than any…
