The Actros 2548 is a great set up for a tractor unit with 480HP of Euro 6 power on tap and Powershift gearboxes too. Choose from StreamSpace, BigSpace, MegaSpace or GigaSpace cabs. Post 2018 models come with the MirrorCam technology that replaces the rear view mirrors. Not as common as the lesser-powered Actros 2545, examples can be found from 2016 onwards, whereas the more common 450hp model stared from launch of the current model range back in 2012.
West Country haulier Willmotts Transport has become one of the first UK customers for Mercedes-Benz trucks equipped with new, improved MirrorCam technology. The Shepton Mallet-based operator has purchased five Actros L BigSpace tractor units from City West Commercials, one of which was showcased on the Dealer’s stand at Truckfest South West earlier this month. A brief experience with trucks by another manufacturer was all it took to convince T4 Logistics that it was better off sticking with Mercedes Actros trucks. The Cardiff-based operator’s latest four Actros arrived via South Wales Dealer Euro Commercials. Acquired with funding support from Mercedes-Benz Finance, they have flat-floored BigSpace cabs and, as 2548 variants, are powered by 12.8-litre ‘straight six’ engines with 350 kW (476 hp) outputs.
