The DAF LF290 – a premium, top-powered, Euro 6 LF truck is only beaten for power by the LF320. Available from 14-18 tonnes GVW, the LF290 has 295hp available from the 7-litre PX-7 PACCAR engine. It is questionable whether many duty cycles require 290 horsepower from the truck, but if there is a demand for high powered trucks, DAF is more than happy to make and sell them. If more distance work is involved, operators tend to opt for the larger DAF CF cab – although, at this power output, the CF290 is less popular than the CF320, CF330 and CF340.
