All of these commercial vehicles are for sale by forthcoming auction. As a result, no prices are listed for them. At Truckpages we aggregate the inventory for the UK’s top commercial vehicle auctioneers which means that you only need to look in one place for the next truck, van or trailer you are looking to buy through the auctions. As with all purchases, please make sure that you take the time to inspect the truck or van prior to purchase. On the main truck search facility it is possible to search for only trucks at auction – or you can search for trucks for sale from dealers and private operators. Simply add the ‘Sale Type’ filter to your search.
When buying a truck from auction it is important to remember that a buyer’s fee is usually added to the hammer price. Make sure that you have the ability to pay the full amount or at least to leave a hefty deposit. The truck that you have bought at auction will have to be collected in a matter of days, so make sure you have the funds available before bidding.
Auctions can be nerve racking places when buying a truck that is going to represent your livelihood and may well be taking up a large part of your savings. Please keep your head and do not keep bidding under any circumstance. Too dear is too dear. Take the time to inspect the truck prior to placing a bid. The truck may look right, but make sure that you hear it running and driving – try and talk to the auction staff who have driven the truck. Remember that the comeback from buying at auction is no the same as if you are buying from a dealer.
So know what you are buying, how you are paying for it and how you are going to collect it.

There are two reasons that you may be considering buying a truck from an auction as opposed to one of the hundreds of used truck dealers across the UK. The first is that the truck you are looking for is particularly rare and the only suitable candidates are all at auction, the second being a tendency towards thrift and the search for a good deal. Research Truck Market Thoroughly If you believe that the only truck available in the specification that you are looking for is at an auction, ask yourself the question if you have fully researched the market?…
The used van market is seeing more physical buyers back in the auction halls as the number of higher mileage vehicles entering the used market is increasing according to Shoreham Vehicle Auctions (SVA). Generally higher ages and mileages are accompanied by more damage and any NAMA grade 3, 4 and 5 vans are receiving careful inspection in person before a buyer will decide whether they can afford to repair the vehicle and sell it at a profit. Typically, these vans are receiving fewer bids in an ‘online only’ environment and which is why SVA’s MD Alex Wright believes more buyers…
