Have you been asking yourself: Where can I find classic lorries advertised for sale and for auction? The answer is right on these pages at Truckpages. At Truckpages we define a classic truck as any rigid truck or tractor unit made before 1995. These oldtimers may be for sale via a dealer, an auction, or directly from the owner. There is always a good number of both classic and vintage trucks for sale here. Check back to find classic British trucks from ERF, Foden and Scammel plus the continental trucks from Scania and Volvo.
As trucks had to work had for a living, it is amazing that any have survived at all, but there are plenty kept at the back of barns across the country. As far as cars are concerned, there are plenty more old cars available, and for that reason theremany labels. For example, a classic car is one you might drive from the 80’s or 90’s whilst a veteran is pre WWI, Vintage is before 1930, post vintage is between 1930 and 1945. If you look at the V5 of a car that is older than 40 years old, the taxation class is ‘historic vehicle’ and with this comes certain benefits – no MoT required, ULEZ exempt and no road tax! Although trucks are not automatically a ‘historic vehicle’ at the age of 40, the owner can nonetheless apply here. However, there are plenty of trucks from the mid-to late 1980s and into the 1990s that are considered classic – think the Volvo F88, Scania 141 and, of course, the last of the Scammells and fibreglass ERFs.
So, good luck in your search and keep checking back regularly as classic trucks come up for sale and for auction all the time here at Truckpages.

The Historic Commercial Vehicle Society’s “London” to Brighton Run will be back this year on Sunday 12th May 2024. Last year’s event clashed with the Coronation so was cancelled as the King’s event was more important. There will be a new start in 2024 from Brooklands Museum, Weybridge which will take the event out of the ULEZ and various lorry restrictions in London. Brooklands Museum are excited that we have chosen to use their venue for the start of our event and are assisting us with the arrangements for Saturday afternoon through to the early Sunday morning start. McLaren truck driver Ian Hodges has been reunited with the 25-year-old Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor unit he once piloted to race circuits throughout Europe, thanks to the stunning efforts of ace restorer Dominic Newby. Ian joined the Formula One outfit in 1997, the year in which the very first examples of the truck range hit UK roads. Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines was McLaren’s works partner at the time, and Dominic’s 6x2 Actros 2557 MegaSpace was one of three identical trucks used to support the team’s pursuit of more Grand Prix victories. They pulled the race team transporter that carried the MP4/12…
