Search from a wide choice of MAN TGS trucks for sale here at Truckpages. MAN’s smaller cabbed sibling to the top of the range TGX, the MAN TGS is a fleet truck through and through. The TGS replaced in part the wide range of cabs from the outgoing TGA models. The TGA range was split in two – the narrower smaller M, L and LX cabs becoming the TGS and the wider cabs the TGX. As a result, the TGS is typically used as a construction 8×4 tipper or hookloader, although can be seen in local, urban distribution set up -anything that needs a narrow-cabbed truck with a low unladen weight and good visibility. When launched for Euro 4 back in 2007, the TGS was available with MAN’s D20 or D26 with outputs from 400 to 480hp.
The 2020 model year TGS comes with MAN’s D26 or D15 engine, with power outputs from 330 to 510hp. Flexibility is key and MAN have made the TGS available not just as a straightforward 4×2 or 6×2 tractor unit or rigids, the TGS is at home with 6×4, 8×2 and 8×4 setups. For truck buyers who want a little more, then the TGS is available as all wheel drive 4×4, 6×6, 8×6 or 8×8 versions. The UK used truck market has more used TGS tractor units than any other type. Of particular note is the large number of ‘pet reg’ versions available. There are plenty of crane trucks, grabloaders, brick carriers and hookloader conversions showing that the TGS lends itself well to adding a crane to the chassis.
A relative newcomer, the TGS has only been around since 2007. As part of a range renewal it was launched alongside the larger cabbed TGX to replace the TGA range. The addition of the TGS meant that MAN’s range of trucks span four options from the lightweight TGL through the middleweight 18-26 tonnes TGM to the TGS which is available as a narrow cabbed tractor unit or rigid – mainly for construction and local distribution. The choice of cabs was broad with the M day cab, L standard-height sleeper and the LX raised-roof model. Not quite a roomy as the TGX, the twin bunk LX version only has a top hammock-style berth which is mainly used for storing gear.
Of particular appeal to the weight conscious tipper operator was MAN’s use of EGR only to achieve Euro 4 and 5. This means no added weight of an SCR unit to clean up the exhaust system.
Alongside the rest of the MAN range, the company revealed their Euro 6 versions – although there were no great numbers of these on UK roads until 2014.
They are not quite putting the closed sign above the sales office for MAN’s new eTruck, as their new electric truck factory comes online in 2025. Until then, the company has no more of their eTruck to sell after the first limited edition models of the new MAN eTruck for 2024 are already sold out, apart from a very small number of vehicles. A total of 700 orders and order requests have been received, the majority of which are for large-scale production, which will start at the MAN plant in Munich in 2025. Trucks with diesel and battery-electric drives will…
The pair of MAN TGS 23.400 8x4 mixers have come straight from work and are ready for their next job. Both 2008 models, they have automatic gearboxes and low kilometres. If you are looking for a later or slightly smaller version, the seller, Plantmaster who are on the inside front cover of the magazine this week also have a 2015 MAN TGM 26.340 6x4 mixer that is also ready to go to work. It's rare to find a late, Euro 6 mixer available for sale, so expect this to be snapped up. Click Image to Read Click to Read Page…
From today you can order yourself a brand-new, heavy-duty electric MAN eTruck. There seems to be takers for the truck already, as the company tell us that they have already received 600 order inquiries. Sounds like you will have missed the deadline for delivery in 2024, however. Whilst the first 200 units are scheduled to roll out to selected customers as early as 2024, the bulk of any orders will have to wait until 2025 as the production at MAN's Munich plant starts manufacturing in larger numbers. MAN have made no fewer than 50 prototypes of these trucks, and around…
