These 18 tonne DAF trucks are the true workhorses of the UK’s distribution fleet. Until the new generation XB and XD launched in 2021 and 2022 become more readily available on the UK’s used truck market, you will mainly find the smaller cabbed LF or the larger cabbed CF available as the mainstay of the 18 tonne DAF range. 18,000 kilogrammes gross vehicle weight is achieved by these DAF trucks using a 4×2 axle configuration. This standard layout means simplicity and a payload of around 10 tonnes, depending on the cab choice and the length and height of the body fitted to the rigid truck.
