Irish haulage firm BM Transport has welcomed the Tiger Trailers brand to its fleet for the first time following its order for 30 curtainsiders. The trailers were manufactured on time and in full by the OEM based in Cheshire and have entered service across the island of Ireland, the UK and Europe.

BM Transport’s Managing Director, Darren Murphy, comments: “The first 30 new Tiger Trailers curtainsiders to join the fleet are the first to sport our updated livery. These trailers are built fully to our own BMT spec meaning they should be on the fleet for much longer than any of current vehicles.”

One trailer from this initial batch of thirty was exhibited at the Fleet Transport magazine awards 2023 event, with Tiger Trailers’ sales team and special guests in attendance for the networking followed by the evening’s award category presentations and entertainment. The logistics company’s straight-frame Tiger trailers are designed for durability with heavy duty side raves, fully galvanised chassis manufactured to EN 12642 XL standards, and ferry-specific features. The internal load securing configuration has also been tailored to the exact requirements of BM Transport and its own customers.

Thomas Stott, Tiger Trailers’ Technical Sales Manager, says: “We’re delighted to welcome BM Transport to the family of Tiger customers and it’s been a pleasure to work closely with Darren and his team in developing their new trailers into the finished product that we and they are proud of. It was an honour to have had BM Transport join us at the Fleet Transport awards and we look forward to visiting them again soon whilst looking after them as a valued customer.”

BM Transport’s first Tiger trailer was collected from the manufacturer’s factory by driver Nik Bagnall in his custom Volvo Trucks FH540 Globetrotter fitted with ‘Dutch-style’ rear lights. His son has always been a fan of real-life tigers but has recently started noticing Tiger trailers, so Nik took the opportunity to pose for photos with the various tiger-related plinths, mascots and paintings on display at Alan Cartwright House.

Operating from sites in County Armagh in Northern Ireland and County Monaghan in the Republic of Ireland, BM Transport runs a versatile fleet currently comprised over 130 tractors and a similar number of articulated trailers, from Euroliners, curtainsiders and temperature controlled reefers, to flatbeds, extendables and low-loaders.
