Popular in the distribution sector, there are always plenty of used 6×2 box trucks advertised for sale here on these pages. These three-axle trucks have a maximum permitted gross weight of 26 tonnes if not towing a drawbar trailer. This weight can increase to 40 tonnes when used in ‘wagon and drag’ combination – find a 6×2 box truck with the rear coupling and high powered engine if this is your plan. However, this configuration is less popular in the UK than on the continent – if you are looking for high volume/weight operation then consider a 6×2 tractor unit instead.
