When looking to buy a used DAF fridge truck, check over carefully the DAF chassis and driveline, but spend more attention on the fridge body and chiller unit. Make sure that the body will cool to the required temperature both using the inbuilt donkey engine but also the overnight standby, (where fitted). If the body is multi temperature, dual compartment then test all sections for temperature and general condition.
Check the insulation around the body and the fit of the doors – any issues in these areas could end up costing you. Has the refrigerated unit recently had a service? Is the unit too noisy?
