Not a common sight in the UK, but highly useful if you have the right duty cycle, the cantilever tail lift makes unloading larger and heavier items more straightforward. The lift is mounted directly onto the chassis and the best designs mean that the tail lift acts as a replacement for the rear door for the body when in the closed position. This saves on weight and reduces the number of moving parts, but it also means the lift can be longer and manage weights of up to 4 tonnes.
