With a lightweight cab and super-reliable running gear, the DAF LF260 curtainsider is the ideal tool for local and regional transport at 18 tonnes GVW.  If you are looking for an 18 tonner for longer distances, then the larger cabbed CF version may be more suitable for your operation even though the LF curtainsider is available as a day or sleeper cab. This type of work is exactly the sweet spot for the DAF LF range and for the network of dealers.  There are plenty on the ground and they have a speedy parts service when needed. The 260hp versions will all be the later, post 2017 models – earlier versions had the 250hp. If you are looking for more power then higher output versions are available for use as an 18 tonne curtainsider – still using the lightweight 7-litre PX-7 engine – there are 290 and 320 horsepower models available, but this would be unnecessary for curtainsider operation.
